COMPOSITION - MORE THAN ONE RULE
Rules are made to be broken, right? That certainly holds true in the world of photography. But sometimes following the rules help, and a few rules helped with this image. The rule of "not having the horizon centered in the frame". I placed the horizon slightly below center. "Converging lines give the eye direction." The converging line of the pier takes the eye to the covered area of the pier. "The brightest part of the image draws the eye". Can't help looking at the brightest area of the sky. And my own rule, "post-process to create your own version of the scene". Topaz Impression plug-in saved this image from going into the waste basket.
