ONCE A TOY - NOW ARTWORK
Photographer, Bill Fortney, has had a tremendous influence on my photography in the last several years. His images have introduced me to Americana photography. I was never drawn to antique stores or flee markets, at my wife's disappointment, but Bill has opened my eyes to the art found in "old stuff".
The great thing about Americana subjects is that you can find them almost anywhere and any time. Bad weather? Venture inside an antique store. You may find unique patterns, textures, and color in some of the "old stuff". Poor light? Since it's not moving, you can shoot with a slow shutter speed (might need a tripod). Interested in macro photography? Check out the "old stuff".
Thanks Bill Fortney for expanding my photographic vision.
