END OF THE ROAD - LITERALLY
This is just one of the many fantastic locations in the Smoky Mountains. In the fall, thousands of visitors pass by the turnoff to this location on their way to famous Cades Cove. There they find themselves in a stop and go traffic jam as they make their way around the loop. But you can find a break from the crowds on some of the side roads in the park.
This morning brought a slow, steady drizzle that kept many of the tourists in bed or enjoying a late breakfast; giving me an opportunity to catch the park's colors without the crowd. FYI, soon after taking this shot I was also enjoying a late breakfast.
