WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM - OR IS IT BISON

The last few blogs have been about the images I captured while on vacation in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park.  Our family was hoping to catch a glimpse of some buffalo, or is it bison, while in the park.  Wow!  They were everywhere.  I'll be posting a few more pictures of some of these massive beasts.  This particular shot was taken early morning in the geyser basin famous for Old Faithful.

There are signs posted all along the trails and raised walkways warning of dangerous, unpredictable ground.  The crust around the geysers, whether big or small, are supposed to be very thin and a person could take the wrong step and fall through the crust into a pool of boiling water.  But, when you look closely, you can see hoof prints from the buffalo, or is it bison, on the unpredictable earth surface.  So what do the buffalo, or is it bison, know that we don't.
